SAA 747SP - Pan Am were the launch customer for this highly specialized model of 747, it flew higher (up to 50 000ft) and further than other 747's and with it's shorter body was perfect for cutting down flying time and fuel consumption. I have flown (only ever as a passenger) on a Pan Am, SAA and a Air Mauritius 747SP (it made the 5 hour JNB-MRU flight in 3 and a half hours) but sadly the 747SP was not purchased by many Airlines. Saudi Arabian Airlines had a few too.
