The Gupta family's use of the Waterkloof Air Force Base in Pretoria constitutes an abuse of state resources and should be investigated, says the DA.
why did they let them land there? I was talking to my friend from my school days at St. John's College in Joburg, on the net and he was at Waterkloof with his colleagues from Airlink to see if they could use it as an alternative airport if JNB has an emergency/ bad weather.
We (my family) landed here (Waterkloof Airforce base) on an Saa 747-200 in 1990 after our flight from Hong Kong (HKG) via Mauritius (MRU) could not land in Joburg due to fog.
I was askingPJ why they did not disembark our hot and smelly aircraft while we waited, apparently there are no customs at this airforce base and so passengers are not allowed to legally disembark from aircraft at Waterkloof Air Force base.
It however seems that if you are good buddies with the ANC government customs and following the correct protocol are no problem?
