Very sad

This aircraft crash happened on 28 November 1987 on a flight from Tapei to Mauritius and it never reached Mauritius or it's final destination JNB (Jo'Burg).  They were carrying arms in the cargo hold, on the same level as the passenger level as it was a 747-200Combi aircraft .  If only South Africa was not at war with the surrounding countries like Angola - this was because of Apartheid - a really bad bad South African governmental idea!(Apartheid)  I know a lady who worked with one of the cabin crew members (Jo Ann McEwen) at the Pinelands Library before she went to SAA and was cabin crew on this fateful flight.  I also met a guy who knew some of the crew at gym.  Interesting?

Plane Boarding/Bite the Bullet (2012) Poster
A fascinating look at how most Airlines board their aircraft in the most inefficient way possible, certainly very interested to know how this could impact turnaround times if implemented.

Last night's Myth Busters programme, was all about how airlines stupidly board their aircraft from the rear to the front rows of the cabin, hoping to speed up the boarding of their aircraft.  General boarding - the way most airlines used to board their passengers onto the aircraft (i.e, not by seat row numbers but by class) was the best!  I also hate getting on planes these days and they make an announcement "the luggage bins on this aircraft are very heavy so please help the cabin crew by closing your overhead bin when it is full" - why? it is their job not mine to secure the cabin!!
