Emirates A380 incident

Well done to the cabin crew who sealed a door on an A380 with blankets and pillows when the seal went on one of their (EMIRATES) A380's recently. The FA who firstly noticed the crack in the door seal screamed and took her seat needs re-training?  Aircraft doors do not fly open when they are closed. Plug type seal

Airline liason

In 1995 (aged 14/15) I won two Tickets to LGW (London) via Sudan on Sudan Airways. The flight was operated by SKYJET on a DC10-30ER and we flew from JOBURG to LGW.  The flight back was cancelled as Airline Liason - the company related to LOGAN's TOURS , had gone bankrupt, causing the closure of South African Domestic Carrier, Phoenix Airways, another related company, to cease operations a few months later!?!  Interesting?!?

Sobelai

They (Sobelair) were operating defunct SABENA's A310 aircraft into JNBthe  last one I saw was at JNB on the day in 2003 when Mom and I left Jo'burg  for CPT and relocated   for Cape Town,

Virgin 747

In 1993 my family and I flew to BKK (Bangkok) on a Varig 747-400 from JNB (Johannesburg)  it was a codeshare flight with SAA.  The aircraft originally departed from Rio stopped in Sao Paulo and Cape Town before it landed in Joburg (JNB) where we boarded and from BKK it went on to HKG (HongKong) -  great aircraft utilization but unfortunately VARIG is no longer operational.
