Runway ? Restaurant Zurich
This is a pic from a matchbook box, from this Restaurant in Switzerland, that my sister, Helen, took us to in 2006.
LOT Polish Airlines
I have never flown LOT before and I might never but I like this photo of this Boeing 737 connected to the air bridge. I like the 737 as an aircraft type (appearance wise) but the Airbus A320 is much more pleasant, from my viewpoint as a passenger on both aircraft types. Airbus A320's are more spacious than Boeing 737s,

Avia Airlines
This airline, Avia Airlines (South Africa's first real competition to SAA, on its long haul flights, who started and ended operations in 1995) flew a Boeing 747SP leased from SAA on flights from JNB (Johannesburg) to LGW(London Gatwick Airport) but it was only operational for a few months. Never lease Aircraft from your competition?
Delicious?
have they ever tasted their food? On my last two flights with them the food was quite tasty
though.
Heston Blumenthal
did a Series on why aircraft food tastes disgusting. It is the dryness at altitude which changes the food's flavour. I know that it is all flash frozen if it is a hot meal item too. so try what you want airline food will always be what it is? No matter your class of travel. |

A340
I love Airbus A340's. The first one(A340) I ever flew on was an Air Mauritius A340-200 when MK or Air Mauritius first got them in 1994. It was on a flight from Johannesburg (JNB) to Mauritius(MRU) via Harare in Zimbabwe. I think that they must have been doing crew taining on the new aircraft type, or why did they need such an aircraft type on that flight? The last time I flew on on an A340 was in 2006 with Swiss International Airlines.

Gone but was good?
In 1997 shortly after this airline had ended operations I flew on this Boeing 747SP(which was leased from SAA) to Perth Australia. It (this aircraft) still wore African Alliance livery and had African Alliance safety cards.
